A Problem w/ Posting

Lately, it seems I've been having some trouble with posting messages here.  The messages themselves seem to appear, but when I go back to the main page, the topic doesn't appear at the top of the page to indicate that a new post has been added.  Plus, each topic shows the name of the last person who posted, yet lately, when I post a message, my name doesn't appear.  This has happened several times in the past week.  I'm wondering what is causing the problem?  Any thoughts or suggestions? ???

Refreshing the page usually works for me.

I tried the things Rob suggested, and I did do most of them. I cannot remember which one did not work for my IE 7.0....the instructions didn't jive.
