Don't know if any one posted this yet but here goes ..

An Ache in Every Stake"  1941.

All this info I found on the web
 http://www.silverlake.org/historic_photo_pages/studios.htm

This shows the stairs as they appear today  (photos courtesy of Jerry Amaro)
They are on the east side of the lake.  If you are driving north on Glendale Blvd.  make a right on Cove Ave.
You will be climbing up a small hill. It curves to the left .  You will see a cul-de-sac to your left with the staircase. The address is between 2257 and 2258 Fair Oak View Terrace.

From AN ACHE IN EVERY STAKE's filmography page...

"The flight of stairs used in this comedy were long a topic of discussion by fans. Their definitive location, and the story of their discovery, was reported in The Three Stooges Journal # 98 (Summer 2001) and # 99 (Fall 2001)."

All the location discoveries and research done by Jim Pauley, published in the Journal over the past 8 years, are also presented in a film/slide presentation he does in The Stoogeum theatre during its open houses and the annual Fan Club Meeting. About three years ago, his program was shown at The Hollywood Heritage Museum in L.A.
