Can someone tell me why SpikeTV whom I'm told owns the short films, refuses to broadcast them?

They still do broadcast them, but they only do it once in a blue moon now. I'm not surprised as people are probably not watching them due to the insane commercial interruptions.

By no means does Spike own the shorts!

The shorts are owned by Sony.

Spike is too busy running CSI 24 hours a day and that crappy show Factory to air the Stooges.

Yeah, I know. It seems like everytime I tune into SpikeTV, CSI is always on. There's like a CSI marathon every weekend.

Yeah, it shouldn't be called Spike TV, it should be the CSI Network!  I don't even like CSI.  Spike TV used to be cool.  They would air James Bond Movies, The Three Stooges (every morning) and Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (MXC).  Those were great!  I don't know who the programming director is at Spike, but they need to take another look at their schedule.  It's kinda like back when USA used to air that show "Wings" about 9 or 10 times a day.

Unbelievable.  Not only does Spike refuse to commonly broadcast the Stooges, but now they have acquired Unsolved Mysteries, and plan to "refurbish" the show. What a joke. Two of my favorite things to watch and Spike is pouring cold water on them.

Yeah, I know.  Spike was supposed to be a network for men.  But now, they don't know who they're for.  Kinda weird.  Just like every other cable channel, they eventually cancel all the good shows and air nothing but garbage.  Why, I remember when Comedy Central used to air stuff like Laurel & Hardy.  You'll never see that on that channel again.  Or how about all the classic cartoons that used to be on the Cartoon Network?  Gone, gone gone.  They only air those newer, stupider cartoons.  I don't understand this logic.  The only channel that has remained true to form is TCM.  Even MTV no longer has music.  Should it be called just TV?

In the early 90s. They aired the syndicated Laurel & Hardy Show up until 1993. They showed the colorized prints.

I normally do not send complaint letters to cable networks, but after 3 years of bitching to everybody about how the History Channel has turned to crap reality TV, I finally broke down and wrote a short and sweet letter to them last week. I think back to around 2000, when I first got digital cable. There were SO many channels I loved to watch, and now they are just awful. I loved to watch VH1 Classic; they showed old videos from the 60s-80s, with no commercials. Now that channel rarely shows videos, shows crappy movies, and commercials. The Game Show Network has their own crappy new shows to promote, and do not show the classic TV Shows they once did.

I mentioned in that letter to the History Channel that I have a BA in History, and I never remember studying Truckers and guys in Alaska or lumberjacks. What happened to Documentaries about WWII or the history of anything?

Remember when AMC used to NOT show commercials? Remember when they showed good movies? Hell, I think I remember it being a pay channel in the mid-80s.  I cannot complain about TCM; still no commercials, great programming, great philosophy, and Ted Turner doesn't even own it anymore! I am wating for the axe to fall with them.....

Oh wow! If we still had the Karma system, I would have applauded you ten times for saying what you said. I absolutely agree with you. I used to love VH1 Classic. They used to show a lot of great videos that I like, especially 80's videos which are my favorite. Now, whenever I tune in, it's all crap. No more videos. And the only thing I watch in Game Show Network is "Family Feud." Once in a blue moon, I do watch Millionaire, but that's basically it. And ever since AMC started showing commercials, I stopped watching that channel. I don't know why they started doing that. I just hope TCM doesn't do that.

Maybe what we need to do is send positive letters to TCM, applauding them for what they're doing.  And let them know that they are definitely the best cable channel.  At least one channel that is still good and sticks to its roots.

The only cable channels I watch nowadays are USA, TCM, and FX. I watch TBS for Seinfeld and Raymond, but that's it.
