Good news for Stooge completists, & bad news for anyone with good taste...

March 22, Warner Home Video is releasing THE NEW SCOOBY DOO MOVIES (1972 – 1973) to DVD.  Most likely due to rights issues with some guest stars, only 15 of the 24 episodes will be included in the set.

The press release lists the Three Stooges, so at least one of the two Stooge episodes ("Ghastly Ghost Town" and "Ghost of the Red Baron") will probably be included.  Norman Maurer was the storyman behind these two episodes.  The Stooges did not provide their own voices; that was done by Pat Harrington Jr. (Moe) and Joe Baker (Curly Joe and Larry).

The hour-long The New Scooby-Doo Movies features a marvelous lineup of celebrity guest stars - The Harlem Globetrotters, Dick Van Dyke, The Three Stooges, Jonathan Winters, Don Knotts, Laurel and Hardy and "Mama" Cass Elliot, plus other animated heroes like Batman and Robin and Speed Buggy.  This 4-Disc Deluxe Set with Stardusted Special Features presents 15 of the best and spookiest capers.

Loaded with caricatured celebrity guest stars.  Over 11 hours from 15 of the original NEW SCOOBY-DOO MOVIES on DVD!  Each release will contain a bonus animated cel replica from the series.  Retro bonus featurettes including “The Hanna-Barbera Kennel Club Roasts Scooby-Doo,” “Uptown With Scooby-Doo and The Harlem Globetrotters,” and “Girls Rock!”

 - Both 'Stooges' episodes will be included.

 - Joe Besser's episode, "Scooby Doo Meets Jeannie," aka "Mystery in Persia," will not be included due to 'Jeannie' character licensing issues with the trademark owners.
