A year later, is it time to give up hope that the main site will return at full speed?

OK, this is very difficult since it was so long ago, before the advent of television (when pro wrestling first exploded in popularity) but in my personal collection I do have a documentary which has a still of a match between this guy (or someone who looks just like him) wrestling Freddie Blassie, but they don't identify him, only Blassie. I'm going to ask some other wrestling dorks who might know about the time period more than I do.

...ThreeStooges.net's editing features were disabled at that time, and for the past year we've been unable to update the website.

What exactly is causing the delay? Is Rob having a hard time adding the Team Stooge login on the main site? I can only imagine how backed up BeAStooge is with the updates since he always worked very hard everyday to add and update the information on this site.

Actually, it is a combination of factors that have been holding things up:

  • Early last summer we suddenly started having problems with the site.  It was overtaxing the resources on the server, which caused the system admins to shut the site down.  In order to solve the problem, I was forced to move the forum over to this domain.
  • Moving the forum meant I couldn't use it to authenticate members on threestooges.net, so I started to work on trying to develop my own login authentication (not as easy as it sounds.)
  • Just a couple of weeks after all of that, the motherboard on my desktop PC crapped out on me.  All of my work is stored on a hard drive on that computer, but since the computer is down the files are unavailable.  I've been getting bled dry by a damned lawyer for the past couple of years (it's a long story), so I haven't had the money to get my PC rebuilt.  Donations to the site also completely dried up, which didn't help either.
  • My laptop, while perfectly adequate for web browsing, isn't really very good for working on the site.  It's too slow to work as a development server, and doesn't have enough hard drive space to store all of the files from the two domains to work on them.
  • Last, but not least, I simply got burnt out and frustrated, by these problems and by a number of other personal issues.

Fortunately, I am finally free of the blood-sucking lawyer (this week was the final payment.)  Unfortunately, I incurred a number of medical bills back in December which I still have to pay off, but hopefully I will be able to set aside enough to repair my PC sometime in August and then I will finally be able to get back to work on the site.

I'm also hopeful that I might be able to recombine the site, when I get back to it.  Upgrading the forum seems to have helped enormously, and we seem to have finally gotten the spammer problem under control.  If I can recombine the forum with the main site it will make it much quicker and easier to wrap up the Team Stooge functions.

So don't give up all hope, guys.  With any luck things will be getting back to normal later this summer.  (Keep your fingers crossed!)

This thread hasn't been used in two years, but I figure this is the best place to ask about it.

I have a couple things about Johnny Kascier: 1. That's him behind Joe and Larry in the new courtroom scenes for Guns A Poppin'!, yet he's not listed on the page; and 2. Was he a "Moe double" in A Merry Mix-Up? In the photo of the Stooges and their doubles on that page, I don't recognize him at all.

I've also a ton of info on him that I dug up on FamilySearch, but I don't know how to use it - should I post it here? Or start a new topic for discussion (when I can)? For starters: He was born on in St. Paul, Minnesota as John Kacerosky*, and he was married at least three times.

* also been spelled Kacerowsky, Kacersoski, Kacerousky, Kaceroosky, etc.

I am new to the board and was having trouble with being able to post a reply.  I apologize if this is not the proper forum for this question.

Many years ago, I saw the beginning of either a Stooges short or one of their films and I distinctly remember in the opening that The Torch Lady (Columbia Woman) was at the opening credits and the boys come up to her and start to get fresh with her saying things like "Hi Toots" and "How About a Date."  I believe it was Curly but it may have been one of the other Stooges after Curly (I only saw it once and it was sometime in the 1980s and it could have been in color, not sure).  I remember she got really annoyed with them and ended hauling off and slapping all three of them across the face in much the same way they do it to others.

I have told my husband about it but he does not remember this at all.  Can someone tell me which short or film this is from and if it still exists today.

Thanks!

Yes, it would definitely exist today as we now have no lost Stooges films. If you did know what Third Stooge was in the film, that may be able to help us a bit more.

Unless it's one of the feature films I have yet to sit down and watch, of which there are a few, I don't remember that situation in anything the Stooges worked on.

It might have been one of their films being shown I'm not certain as it has been a long time.  I wish I could remember if it was Curly, Shemp, Curly Jo or Joe Besser in that clip but my brother remembers seeing it too.  I remember that it struck me funny because the Torch Lady got so annoyed with them and I think it was the actress who played the Torch Lady not the one that is shown kind of off in the distance.  I wish I could remember more about it.

It was one of those shows on a channel that had a regular Three Stooges hour each day if I remember correctly.  Right after that opening, they went to commercial and they came back and played "Pop Goes the Easel" where they throw the clay.  I remember this distinctly because my brother told me that it was really funny and one of his favorite shorts next to "Hoi Polloi" and "In the Sweet Pie and Pie."

This does not sound familiar.  Could it have been one of their full-length movies and not a short?

Hmm. I just looked up the model for the Torch Lady, and she was not in any Stooges movies at all...

I think the Torch Lady was known as Miss Liberty.

I spent a little while trying to find anything which fits your description, even if it were a partial match.  I found nothing.  I am far from being a whiz at online searches, so my failure to turn up anything oughtn't to be considered the final word.  Sorry, Valkyrien.

Some Men In Black-related stuff:

I think we have the wrong screencap for Lucile Watson; I think she's the older woman in the white(?) hat next to the dark-haired woman "screengrabbed" on her page.

Also: some images of MIB nurse Kay Hughes (I'm trying to figure out if she's the nurse escorting the dark-haired woman - she has flat almost saddle-esque shoes; I think she appears throughout the short):

Question about the cast listing for PARDON MY SCOTCH: has there been a mistake with the listing for Mrs. Walton and Mrs. Martin?

I know Gladys Gale is Mrs. Walton (NOT Martin), but where is Grace Goodall? And where does "Mrs. Martin" appear? Was something cut?

Yesterday I made a YouTube video to share with others in the hopes of identifying a actor in Dizzy Detectives.

Today I received a tip that the actor might be Dick Botiller.
