I was just skimming the DVD release schedule at TV Shows on DVD (www.tvshowsondvd.com) and saw a listing for Love, American Style.  It appears Paramount will be issuing Love, American Style - Season 1, Vol. 1 on DVD on November 20th.  I assume by the title that the set only features a portion of the episodes from the show's first season.  The set's suggested retail price is $39.99.  Here's why I posted this in the Q&A forum.  Is anyone here familiar with this release?  Do you know if Joe Besser is featured in any of the episodes included on this set?  Thanks for the help. ;)

EDIT - There is also a listing for The Smurfs - Season 1, Vol. 1 to be released on February 26, 2008.  The suggested retail price is $26.99.  I wonder if any future Smurfs DVD sets will include the primetime special, My Smurfy Valentine?  Joe Besser was the voice of Cupid for that production.  Hmm. . .  ???

His first appearance was in Season 1, so barring any sort of lack of future releases he'll be in Season 1, Volume 2.

Thanks for the info, Locoboy.  I'm also a fan of the Monkees.  Unfortunately, I don't see Davy Jones's episode listed either.  Do you happen to know how many sets need to be released before they get to Davy's episode?  ???

I was a huge Monkees fan when I was a kid. I was obsessed with the TV Show. Haven't watched it in years.. now that the whole series is on DVD I better get started again. ;D

Davy Jones was in 2 episodes, being:

Love and the Hidden Meaning/Love and the Model Apartment/Love and the Parent's Sake/Love and the Three-Timer/Love and the Weirdo (1973) (segment "Love and the Model Apartment")
Love and the Elopement/Love and the Visitor (1970) TV Episode .... (segment "Love and the Elopement")

His first appearance will be in Season 2, Volume 1 and second would be Season 5, Volume 1. With the way Paramount's shows are released on DVD, depending on the sales you'll have both appearances in probably 3 or 4 years.

BTW, I like *cough* karma *cough*  ;)

I assume by the title that the set only features a portion of the episodes from the show's first season.  Do you know if Joe Besser is featured in any of the episodes included on this set?

It is the first twelve, complete, one-hour episodes of the first [half] season (1969).  None of Joe Besser's four appearances will be on this set.

Assuming sales warrant more releases, MY SMURFY VALENTINE will probably appear in a future volume, since this first volume includes a prime-time Christmas special as a bonus feature.
