I love this song and saw it on You Tube. Most of the best music made to date seems to have been made before I was even born (1985). This song came out in 69.

Amazingly, the song was released in 1969 (supposedly to coincide with the Apollo 11 mission), and this video seems to show us a VERY young David Bowie (maybe early 1970ish) but anyway ... the idea of a "music video" was born YEARS before MTV ever appeared to make it a staple of American Life.
[Trivia Question - what was the group and the title of the song that was the first huge hit on MTV? [if no one can answer (or even if they can) I'll post the YouTube Video for everyone to see - it looks much like the crap we're getting today]
The tacks won't come out! Well, they went in ... maybe they're income tacks.

Very correct, Jazzbill ...
I'm not sure if this tune was popular on the radiowaves before or after it was played constantly on MTV, but it certainly appears to have been written for conjunctive use with the video, if not, then nearly every other so-called "hit" tune thererafter was.
