Loading dock foreman Arnie Nuvo (Herschel Bernardi) unexpectedly finds himself promoted to the executive offices of Consolidated Flange. Conflicts arise with the established executives, and his blue-collar circle of close friends. The abrupt lifestyle change, from lower to upper middle class, also presents adjustments for his family, in this critically-loved but low-rated situation comedy.
Mr. Majors wants a "surprise" birthday party, and assigns junior executive Arnie the job of organizing the celebration. Complications naturally arise, especially with an excitable bakery chef (Joe Besser) as part of the recipe.
