Bob Hope hosts a 2-hour salute to film, radio and TV comedians and comics of the past. Utilizing clips from Bob's TV specials of 1950 - 1976, producer Jack Haley Jr. put together a fun retrospective.

Hope closes the special with a tribute montage of all the funny people who could not be featured in the special's limited running time, primarily taken from public domain footage. Ted Healy & His Stooges are shown in a brief clip from the trailer to HOLLYWOOD PARTY (1934 MGM).
