LOEW'S SPRING CARNIVAL

Air Date/Released Sunday, March 23, 1930
Station/Studio WPAP-AM New York (radio)
Host/Star Ted Healy, Phil Baker & Dave Apollon
Featuring Ted Healy and His Stooges

The NYC Loew's promotional campaign "Loew's Spring Carnival" included a Sunday night broadcast by the theater's current live acts. Promotions indicated that up to 2 dozen acts would perform. Variety reported on April 9 that the 11PM broadcast was still going strong at 1AM.

After recently closing in the Broadway revue A NIGHT IN VENICE, Ted's act was now working as "Ted Healy & His Racketeers." The Boys had signed for a 1-week run at Loew's beginning on March 22, and Ted was assigned the key M.C. spot for this broadcast.

Based on promotional pieces in Variety on March 19, and the aforementioned April 9 writeup, it is not certain that the Stooges were heard with Ted in the broadcast. Pending additional information, it is guessed that they did.

Cast: Ted Healy, Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Shemp Howard, Fred Sanborn, Phil Baker, Dave Apollon, Lita Grey Chaplin, Harry Jolson, Anita Stewart, Lou Holtz, Venita Gould, Georgie Price, Dave Schooler, Joe Frisco, Herman Timberg, Mary Haynes
