Musical/comedy variety series set at the fictional Jack Oakie College, starring Jack Oakie as the university President. It aired from December 1936 to March 1938. William Austin ('Alfred' in the 1943 serial BATMAN) was the school's English professor, and Raymond Hatton was the football coach, with guests each week. Originally 1 hour, during 1937 it was cut back to ½-hour and preceded Benny Goodman's SWING SCHOOL, the combined block promoted by CBS as a "college" themed hour of musical variety.
In entertainment columnist Hy Gardner's June 25 "Broadway Newsreel" it was announced that Ted Healy would appear on Oakie's series. No specific date was given, but for this filmography it's guessed that Hy referred to the next episode. Additional episode details are unknown at this time.
