JOEY BISHOP SHOW, THE (talk show)

Air Date/Released Tuesday, April 23, 1968
Station/Studio ABC
Host/Star Joey Bishop
Featuring Moe, Larry and Curly Joe

ABC attempted to create its own late-night talk show, to compete against THE TONIGHT SHOW. Joey Bishop was a popular substitute host for Johnny Carson, and so on April 17, 1967 ABC premiered THE JOEY BISHOP SHOW with co-host Regis Philbin. The show never really caught on with audiences, but did endure for a 2½ year run.

The TV listing tells us that the Stooges were guests for this episode, but specific details, i.e., discussion, sketches [if any], musical performances, etc., are unknown at this time. Research continues.

Cast: Joey Bishop (Host), Regis Philbin (Co-Host), Johnny Mann (Musical Director), Carl Reiner, Johnny Cash, Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Joe DeRita
