Saturday morning animation series spoof of THE WILD WILD WEST and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, the Houndcats are a group of cunning and bumbling feline & canine Secret Service agents in the 1910s Southwest U.S. Team leader Stutz is assisted by master-of-disguise Putty Puss (Joe Besser), inventor genius Rhubarb, IQ-challenged strong-dog Mussel Mutt, jack-of-all-trades Ding Dog, and the team's high tech jalopy Spark-Plug.
Dr. Strangeless recruits a team of criminal experts for some unknown evil purpose, and the Houndcats are instructed to determine what he's up to. The heroes pose as criminals to infiltrate the Strangeless gang, and learn that he plans to steal oil supplies from an underground pipeline.
