Joey Barnes hosts a CBS Sunday night variety show from New York. Episodes revolve around his professional and personal life, with celebrities appearing as themselves. At home are Joey's beautiful wife Abby, and maid Hilda. Joe Besser costars as Mr. Jillson, the barely competent apartment building superintendent, a high-strung man with a heart of gold. Rounding out the main characters is Larry Corbett, Joey's best friend, head writer and manager.

A DANNY THOMAS SHOW crossover, when Rusty Hamer joins the cast as a semi-regular. With Danny & Kathy Williams travelling, college freshman Rusty moves in with the Barnes. They assure him it's okay to act like a typical teenager, but are shocked when he goes overboard and turns their penthouse into Party Central.


THE JOEY BISHOP SHOW began as a 1961 spin-off episode of THE DANNY THOMAS SHOW.
