Joey Barnes hosts a CBS Sunday night variety show from New York. Episodes revolve around his professional and personal life, with celebrities appearing as themselves. At home are Joey's beautiful wife Abby, and maid Hilda. Joe Besser costars as Mr. Jillson, the barely competent apartment building superintendent, a high-strung man with a heart of gold. Rounding out the main characters is Larry Corbett, Joey's best friend, head writer and manager.
Larry's latest girlfriend breaks up with him due to Joey's oversight. Larry's broken heart leads to an argument between the two friends, and Larry ends their personal and professional relationship. Ellie breaks out the friends' scrapbook photos to remind them of their life-long friendship.
