One-hour musical-comedy sitcom, relating the romance and married life of a young couple with sketches, monologues, music, dance and celebrity guest stars. For its one season run, the series followed the young couple from their first meeting, marriage and having a child.

Robert loves Gloria but has mixed feelings due to his determination to remain a bachelor. With advice from friend Sylvia (Nancy Wilson), Gloria hires actor friend Lester (Tim Conway) to play a former lover and make Robert jealous. Songs include Nancy Wilson performing "Marriage Blues," "It Must Be Him" by E. J. Peaker, "Embarrassment of Riches" with Robert Morse, "Our Love Is Here to Stay" and "The Two of Us" by Morse & Peaker, and "To Get a Man" with Nancy Wilson & E. J.

Joe Besser guests as a deli delivery man who becomes a victim of Gloria's scheme when Lester mistakes him for Robert.
