PETER GUNN - Cry Love, Cry Murder

Air Date/Released Monday, March 27, 1961
Station/Studio NBC / Spartan Productions
Featuring Joe Besser (Solo)

Bringing the suave, lady-killer private detective format to television, Craig Stevens stars as Peter Gunn. Gunn's leisure time is spent at "Mother's," a jazz nightclub featuring his singer girlfriend Edie. Helping Gunn is his close friend, police lieutenant Jacoby. A great deal of the series' appeal was the music of Henry Mancini, which never failed to deliver an episode's mood and tempo, as well as a chart-topping hit theme.

A gun used in a gangster's murder is found in a teenage Mexican immigrant's possession. The father asks Gunn to clear his son. Joe Besser guest stars as a talent agent, one of Gunn's informants.
