Situation comedy about neighbors and best friends, the Hubbards and the Buells. The straight-laced Hubbards were successful lawyer Herb and his wife Eve. The more unconventional and somewhat bombastic Buells were Roger, a television writer, and Kaye. The families' kids, Jerry and Suzie, elope and set up housekeeping the Hubbards' renovated garage apartment. Episodes usually revolve around the misadventures and schemes of Eve and Kaye.
Jerry and Suzie can't afford to go out and celebrate their first anniversary. Not wanting to hurt the kids' pride, the in-laws plot to hide cash in Jerry's favorite sportcoat, so he'll think it's "found" money. But the coat winds up a thrift shop donation before the money is found. Eve and Kaye head out to retrieve it, are accused of stealing from a donation bin, and arrested for mugging a tramp (Joe Besser).
