JABBERJAW - Ali Jabber and the Secret Thieves

Hanna-Barbera's 1970s originality is at work here, recycling the formats of JOSIE & THE PUSSYCATS and SCOOBY-DOO, with newly named characters living in the year 2076, a rock band named The Neptunes. Drawing on the mid '70s shark-mania of JAWS, the main character is Jabberjaw, a talking great white shark and The Neptunes' drummer. Frank Welker was Jabber's voice, an impersonation of Jerry 'Curly' Howard; the shark's personality drew on the characterization of Rodney Dangerfield.

In the undersea kingdom of Hydrabia, Jabberjaw acquires a magic electrolamp and accidentally releases Volton, the evil energy that was imprisoned in the lamp. The Neptunes infiltrate the Secret Thieves, Voltron's followers, to reimprison the evil, but unknown to them, Voltron and the Thieves need the lamp back and are looking for Jabber.
