Chicago L token booth clerk Lucy has a crush on passenger Peter, from afar. When he falls onto the tracks unconscious, Lucy rescues him from an oncoming train. At the hospital, misunderstandings result in Peter’s family believing that Lucy is comatose Peter’s fiancée. Lucy continues the fantasy, but Peter’s brother Jack doubts the situation. Complications grow when Lucy and Jack begin to fall in love, and then Peter wakes up.

Jack continues to challenge Lucy’s relationship with Peter...
Jack: Which one of The Three Stooges is Peter’s favorite?
Lucy: ... Curly.
