A documentary crew chronicles the dysfunctional staff of Dundler-Mifflin, an office paper supply company in Scranton PA.
The staff’s daily routine is disrupted when rumors of downsizing circulate. The arrival of temp Ryan Howard presents an opportunity for regional manager Michael Scott to introduce him (and the viewers) to the office staff.
Ryan Howard arrives in the workplace, and Michael Scott displays his "knowledge" of The Three Stooges...
Ryan Howard: Ryan. Ryan Howard from the temp agency.
Michael Scott: Howard? Like Moe Howard, Three Stooges? Watch this, this is Moe... "Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. La de la dah..."
Ryan: Yeah, Stooges.
Michael: (to Ryan) High five! (to Pam) Oh Pam. It's a guy thing, Pam. (to Ryan) Now who's the one before Shemp?
Ryan Howard: Curly.
Michael: Curly, very good! Curly Joe DeRita.
Ryan: Just Curly. Curly Joe DeRita was different.
Michael: Well, Curly’s kinda my thing. Here's Curly Joe ..."Mee, mee, mee, mee, mee! Mee, mee, mee, mee, mee!" I’m sort of a student of comedy.
Michael: Oh I know, I got one. (grabs a desk nameplate and places it under his nose like a mustache) [faux German gibberish, while doing a goosestep] Ha, ha, ha! I'm Hitler! Right? [more faux German gibberish] "Mee, mee, mee, mee, mee!" Curly Joe Hitler!
