Four aliens are assigned to Earth to observe and report on human behavior. Taking on the guise of earthlings, the aliens experience the full range of human life and emotion, without fore-knowledge of what it means.
Dick attempts to understand the concept of jokes and how he can develop a sense of humor in order to MC a college fund raiser headed by Mary.
Trying her hand at carpentry, Sally suggests that Dick watch the antics of "those three guys on TV," and demonstrates some classic Stoogery with a little help from Tommy and Harry.
