VEGGIETALES - Going Up!

Air Date/Released Saturday, October 14, 2006
Station/Studio NBC / DreamWorks Animation

Computer-animated characters in the images of vegetables and fruits engage in stories with morals based on the Bible, in modern pop culture settings.

The story is based on Laurel & Hardy's THE MUSIC BOX, with the characters modeled on The Three Stooges. Larry the Cucumber, Jerry Gourd and Mr. Lunt are hired by Mr. Nezzer to deliver a piano to Madame Blueberry's mansion, which sits atop a hill and a steep staircase. After a couple attempts to reach the house fail, an ice cream truck distracts Jerry and Lunt and leaves Larry to do the job on his own.

"Going Up!" is a mini-toon that aired with the main episode "Sumo of the Opera."

The characters are based on the Stooges, but their roles and likenesses are mixed... Mr. Lunt looks like Moe but is Curly's character; Jerry Gourd, although named Jerry, is Larry's character; the bald Larry the Cucumber is Moe's character.

Cast: Mike Nawrocki (Larry the Cucumber, Jerry Gourd), Phil Vischer (Mr. Lunt, Mr. Nezzer)

Crew: Mike Nawrocki, Phil Vischer (Directors, Writers, Created by)
