Station/Studio | NBC / Castle Rock |
The sitcom about nothing. Stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld deals with the single life in NYC, along with his neurotic and self-absorbed friends.
Jerry splurges on himself with an expensive suede jacket, just in time for Elaine to invite him and George to have dinner with her father, a notoriously famous, eccentric and intimidating author. Elaine is late for the dinner date, leaving the two to nervously deal with Mr. Benes and a costly mishap for the new jacket.
George and Jerry compare notes in the restroom...
George: How can she leave us alone with this lunatic?! Ten more minutes, and that’s it! I’m leaving! I have to tell you, this guy scares me.
Jerry: The waiter was trembling.
George: If she doesn’t show up, we can’t possibly have dinner with him alone.
Jerry: How are we gonna get out of it?
George: We’ll say we’re frightened and we have to go home.
Jerry: Yeah, that’s good. He’d clunk our heads together like Moe.
