M*A*S*H - Patent 4077

Air Date/Released Tuesday, January 10, 1978
Station/Studio CBS / 20th Century-Fox

In the 1950 - 1953 Korean War, the doctors, nurses and staff of the 4077 M*A*S*H, 3 miles from the front, maintain sanity between grueling surgical emergencies with humor, hijinks and personal relationships.

Fed up with clamps that can't properly be used for arterial surgeries, Hawkeye and BJ take it upon themselves to create one. When the Army Corps of Engineers can’t help, our surgeons first turn to Sgt. Zale, and then to a local Korean tinker. Meanwhile, Klinger accidentally throws away Maj. Houlihan’s wedding ring and becomes her target of abuse until he can recover it. On their first attempt at invention, BJ and Hawkeye fumble around in the surgical lab...
BJ: When loosening a screw, does it go this way or that way?
Hawkeye: ... I’ll call Larry, Moe and Curly.
