GAS

A local oil tycoon (Sterling Hayden) disrupts a mid-west small town when he conceives a phony oil shortage to increase his profits. Local TV news reporter Jane Beardsley (Susan Anspach) suspects fraud and begins an investigation, with help from a local radio DJ (Donald Sutherland) in his helicopter who's overseeing the traffic chaos below.

Jane interviews a gas pump jockey (Keith Knight) who goes into his impersonation of Curly Howard.
