WKRP IN CINCINNATI – Preacher
Air Date/Released | Monday, June 4, 1979 |
---|---|
Station/Studio | CBS / MTM Productions Inc. |
The eccentric staff of WKRP-AM struggles for ratings and respect in Cincinnati.
WKRP management receives complaints about the station’s Sunday morning religious program, whose bombastic preacher (Rev. 'Little Ed' Pembrook, a former pro wrestler) uses his sermons to request listener donations as a way of selling religious “artifacts” like Sermon on the Mount Little League batting helmets and John the Baptist shower curtains.
Mr. Carlson is visited by a priest, reverend and rabbi, a group concerned about Rev. Pembrook’s antics and how they're reflecting on the city’s religious communities. Unfortunately, Carlson is too preoccupied with his new exercise bike to notice the three men led into his office...
Travis: Mr. Carlson, I have some people here sir, who would like to see you.
Carlson: Oh, tell ‘em I’m busy will you? I’m tired of you and your weird friends.
Travis: I think you should speak with these gentlemen sir.
Carlston: Hah! Who do you have with you, The Three Stooges?
Crew: Michael Zinberg (Director), Bill Dial (Writer), Hugh Wilson (Creator, Producer)
