SIMPSONS, THE - Who Shot Mr. Burns? Part 1

Air Date/Released Sunday, May 21, 1995
Station/Studio Fox / 20th Century Fox TV

Satirical, animated sitcom adventures of the dysfunctional, working class Simpsons family. The strange town of Springfield is their home, populated by a mixture of neurotics and socially stunted weirdos.

Oil is discovered on the school grounds, but before the school and town can benefit, Mr. Burns slant-drills and steals the oil for himself. In the process, jets of loose oil ruin much of the town, drilling damages building foundations, and fumes close Moe’s Tavern. And the school is now bankrupt, having used funds to build a well before the oil was stolen. Mr. Burns is shot, and everyone in Springfield has a motive. The school's newfound wealth brings dreams of what to do with the money. Bart's idea is to resurrect The Three Stooges...
Bart: They didn’t approve my idea. They said it was unfeasible.
Lisa: It is unfeasible to resurrect the dead Bart. And even if The Three Stooges were alive, I doubt they'd want to hang around with you.
Bart: Well, yeah. I guess they’d probably wanna be with their families or somethin', huh?
