SIMPSONS, THE - I'm Goin' to Praiseland

Air Date/Released Sunday, May 6, 2001
Station/Studio Fox / 20th Century Fox TV

Satirical, animated sitcom adventures of the dysfunctional, working class Simpsons family. The strange town of Springfield is their home, populated by a mixture of neurotics and socially stunted weirdos.

Ned decides to move on after Maude's death, and when the Simpsons help him pack up her belongings, Ned finds her sketchbook of her dreamed Christian amusement park, Praiseland. Ned builds the park as her legacy, and its initial negative reception gives way to popular acclaim... actually, the attendees' visions and feelings of euphoria are caused by a dangerous gas leak. Principal Skinner is affected by the gas, and has a vision of heaven...
Skinner: Oh, it was incredible! I saw Heaven! But it wasn't clouds and angels playing harps, like at the end of so many Three Stooges shorts.
