SIMPSONS, THE - Bart the Daredevil

Air Date/Released Saturday, October 6, 1990
Station/Studio Fox / 20th Century Fox TV

Satirical, animated sitcom adventures of the dysfunctional, working class Simpsons family. The strange town of Springfield is their home, populated by a mixture of neurotics and socially stunted weirdos.

Impressed by the daredevil performance of Capt. Lance Murdock at a monster truck rally, Bart wants to become a skateboarding daredevil. In spite of an accident, Bart announces he will skateboard across Springfield Gorge. After Bart has a skateboard accident, the family takes a tour of the hospital's injury ward with Dr. Hibbert...
Dr. Hibbert: What you are about to see are the stark reality of impersonating professional sports, movies, television, and other entertainment-related violence. (Points out a boy with his leg in a cast reading a book) Bart, this little boy broke his leg... trying to fly like Superman.(Points out another boy in head bandages) This boy's brother hit him on the head with a wrench... mimicking a recent wrestling match seen on TV. We will not even subject you to the horrors of our Three Stooges Ward.
