“In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime; and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories.”
The investigation into the murder of a fashion model leads to her frequent limo driver, who had a pathological infatuation for her. Revelation of her cocaine habit leads to another possible motive, and a much larger player in the crime. In the epilogue, the D.A. staff discusses the case’s sad irony and moral, ending in a reference to The Three Stooges, and a surprising comment from the usually dour D.A. Schiff...
Schiff: A story for Sophocles.
McCoy: Or Larry, Moe and Curly.
Schiff: I always loved those guys.
