Trials, tribulations and pleasures of adolescence, of Kevin Arnold and his friends growing up in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Kevin's nemesis Becky Slater is the only candidate for student council president, so Paul decides to take democratic action... he files Kevin's candidacy, without Kevin's knowledge. The acrimony between the candidates soon turns the campaign into a mud-slinging contest. Kevin's reluctance to run isn't helped when he and Paul find their friends, the campaign "brain trust," watching The Three Stooges on television.
