A spin-off of Chicago's Second City, the Canadian troupe became the most well-known after launching their own television show in Canada, and once it received US syndication, it rivaled SNL in popularity. Like SNL, many cast members went on to successful film and TV acting careers. After the U.S. syndication success of the Canadian episodes, NBC picked up the show for a 90-minute edition that ran from 1981 - 1983, SCTV NETWORK 90.
In this "commercial" for a record, John Candy voiceovers Curly Howard for "Curly Howard Sings the Great Movie Love Themes"... Romeo and Juliet, The Godfather and The Thomas Crown Affair. And the flip side "Curly Sings the Classics."
