| Station/Studio | NBC / NBC Productions |
| Host/Star | Lily Tomlin |
Revolutionary sketch comedy/music program, featuring the original roster of Not-Ready-For-PrimeTime-Players. The initial 1970s seasons launched pop culture characters, phrases, celebrity status and movie franchises.
In a sketch featuring Lily's character Tess DiSenzo, a chainsmoking recluse living in her lonely fantasy world, real estate salesman Rob Hopkins (Garrett Morris) replies to her request for a sales pitch on a new condominium development. Unfortunately he's subjected to her nonsensical ramblings about absent family, smoking and sales on Nativity scenes. The sketch opens with Tess watching GENTS IN A JAM (1952) on television, and closes with the Stooges' theme as she begins watching another short.
