I liked this Short, especially the dance scenes. Those girls had great legs and it showed. I really liked Ruth Godfrey and what a set of legs. Curly in the beginning with the line he wanted to eat the pie so he could die-gest right was pretty funny too.

This was not the most memorable short of the stooges, however it did have some funny moments like when Curly and Larry kept whacking Moe with the instruments and the ledge scene. All in all, nothing with the boys is really that bad, now is it??Plus that's where I got my sign on name from!!!Chow-bella!

I fell asleep watching this short. It was very very boring and very unfunny. Curly looks likes he's lost some weight here too.

An excellent Three Stooges short subject! If I don't like a film with Curly in it, I will say so, but this one worked for me. P.S: It's no crime to get sick.

A terrible late Curly-era short; nearly as bad as THREE TROUBLEDOERS. The boys had NO material here, so they thought up about eight minutes of acting that wasn't half funny, and filled the rest with dancing and music.Moe's line: "Come on, we've got some croaking to do!" cracked me up, but I waited at least five minutes after that to laugh at all, and even then, it wasn't too funny. From that point on, there was nothing hysterically funny or anything until the crazy guy starts saying, "Chu, chu!" and walking holding the train.I know everyone loves Curly, and that no one will admit this, but this is a truly awful short. It's so obvious that they had nothing good planned. So there were two small parts that I liked, so what? This is an 18-minute short, and it should be a fast-paced and hysterically funny film!Don't moida me for saying this, but I have a hard time saying this one is much better than HOOFS AND GOOFS...Rating: 1.5/10

Yeah, this short is OK, I kinda liked the seen when Moe is trying to undress Curly. Curly is DEFINITELY hurting in this one though. He sounds weak. But still not a terrible short.2 pokes

I did change my mind! Whaddya know! This short isn't so bad after all! But the long dancing scene does weaken this short a bit and there is a little too much music. Not a terrible effort though, because the Mike Lippincranz play was a piece of classic vaudeville comedy. Jack Norton was great as the lunatic and let's not forget the funny ending(even though it was done better in "Pardon My Clutch"). Overall, I wouldn't rate it as high as Shemp D. did, but I think it is not such a terrible short after all. Most people tend to rate this one unfairly because Curly isn't as energetic and he is noticably ill. But he still is his funny old self albeit ill!3 pokesEdited by - Mike Holme on 10/6/2001 1:25:17 AM

People, people! Let's not be so hard on this short. This the healthiest I've seen Curly look in his ill period. I love all those funny scenes you folks mention. This is an awful lot like "Gent" but it has it's differences too. I think they knew that the dance scene on the stage would be too long and boring for Stooge fans. That's why the Stooges had funny little parts in that scene. They would show a little ballet, than a little Stooge enthusiasm as the boys excitedly dance while watching the girls. Then more of the girls ballet was shown, then more Stooges. It was like that all the way through the dance scene, so I don't think that it's THAT long and boring of a scene- PLUS we get to see gorgeous girls dancing! What more could a fella want? This short may not deserve the highest rating a film could get, but it certainly doesn't deserve the lowest either.ISLIPP- dogs YIPP. ®2001

I too think this short is pretty weak, but I think its slightly, just slightly, better than THREE LOAN WOLVES. That isn't saying much, but Curly does seem a little more animated. The ending wasn't all that great either, with the stooges hitting themselves on the head. A better(?) ending might've had a devestated Moe saying "Lets go back up to the roof", or "Lets finish what we started before", or something like that and showed everybody leaving the room. THAT would've made an interesting ending(but not funny) ending to a stooge short, and left us wondering if they finally jumped or not. (Of course, I don't like endings that leave you with too many questions or unhappy endings. So I would imagine the stooges on the roof with their sweethearts about to end it all, when the three couples declare their love for each other and decide to live for each others' sakes and get married and finally become a success on Broadway!)

Hmmm, I just saw this short and I really am surprised to see so many negative reviews of it. It was a riot and I laughed out loud! I don't get the problem with the dancing sequences either. Ladies who look like that can dance for me anytime! LOL It's true, we've all gotten somewhat spoiled by the convenience of TV reruns and a VCR that allows us to view these stooge films so often and close together. Every "flaw" becomes noticeable. As someone pointed out, that wasn't always the case. Oh well, I liked it anyway. LOL

I don't know why some of you are beating up on this film. I like it a lot! Sure, it may not be as good as some other Curly films, but what do you want? I actually think he was able to hold his own in this short. Love the "Stooge Jam Session" and the "This I like, and I get paid for it, too!" line. Great ending as well. All I'm saying is, don't scrutinize each short for what may be lacking. Just watch it, laugh, and enjoy it.

I personally, am more on the side of Soitainly and Shemp D.(below). Although "RHYTHM AND WEEP" is certainly(soitainly) not their best stuff, it still has enough memorable scenes to be considered a decent one by me. I especially enjoy the 'Stooge jam session' with Curly on sax! I love the expressions on Moe's face just before he gets hit with the trombone slide or the bow from the stand-up bass. I think that if you try not to 'analyze' Curly too much in these later shorts, you can enjoy them a little more. After all, when we were kids watching the Stooges, we weren't picking apart every little thing Curly did wrong or couldn't do; I'd like to think that we were just watching our favorite comedians trying to give us a good time. Some shorts better than others, of course. I don't think this film deserves one poke. I think that's a little harsh. One poke is for Besser shorts. Also, HILDA, TILDA and WILDA; nice lookin' dames! (how could you want to jump off a building after meeting them?!) The end is kinda memorable too, with the millionaire turning out to be a mental patient.
