Featuring Shemp Howard (Solo)
62 min. (Feature Film)
Daredevil newsreel photographer Dick McManus and his partner Andy Tompkins always manage to turn in headline-making footage, but often at the expense of Mercury News Reel's owner Mr. Momsen, Dick's girlfriend newswire stenographer Norma, and rival reporter Bradford (Vinton Haworth). Dick and Andy sneak film footage of the government's secure new dam, and Axis agents are determined to get their hands on it to plan a sabotage attack.
Shemp Howard cameos as a drunk pickpocket, a cellmate of Dick's and Andy's after their antics at a government aerial demonstration land them in jail.
Another entry in Universal's attempt to create an Arlen & Devine series.
