Featuring Ted Healy (Solo)
87.8 min. (Feature Film)
Aspiring New York radio singer Joan Warren loses her nightclub job, and discovers that agent Nicky Alexander is just as down on his luck. Nicky and assistants Al Craven & Fitz Fitzgerald (Ted Healy & Patsy Kelly) latch onto the reknowned, and perpetually drunk, stage and film star Bruce Farraday (Adolphe Menjou), and fabricate a love affair between him and Joan. Newspaper reporter Ted Blake publicizes the publicity stunt, and paints Joan as a golddigger. She now has the fame she wanted... but for notoriety, not talent. No radio producer is willing to hire her, and Farraday's legal guardian spirits him off to Los Angeles to escape the scandal. Ted realizes his mistake, and joins Nicky, Al and Fitz on a chase to L.A. to find Farraday and save Joan's career.
The feature film debut of the Ritz Brothers; Stooge-nostalgia, when Healy delivers a triple-slap to Al, Harry and Jimmy.
