Featuring Ted Healy (Solo)
70.75 min. (Feature Film)
Pop Clark, owner and General Manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, has leveraged everything to hold onto his team. He needs a pennant win to pay off his debts, so he hires ace pitcher Larry Kelly. Racketeers have gambled a lot of money on St. Louis losing the race, and a rich businessman has designs on foreclosing the Cardinals from Pop. When Kelly's talent inspires the other players and St. Louis climbs to second place, accidents begin to happen, and soon, three key players are murdered. With the help of reporter Jimmie Downey, Pop and Kelly must find the murderer and save the team.
Nat Pendleton and Ted Healy are teamed again for comic relief, along with Ed Brophy as a bumbling cop.
