Newly crowned heavyweight champ Joe Palooka, manager Knobby Walsh (Shemp), and sparring partner Punchy, set up training camp at a farmer's boarding house. The champ is broke and the board tab keeps rising, prompting the farmer to threaten them with a visit from the Sheriff.
Local society girl Ann Howe catches Palooka's eye, and she convinces him to fight an exhibition bout with Punchy at a charity event she's hosting. Her boyfriend Jim Perry, an ex-amateur college boxing champ, is jealous and schemes to replace Punchy so he can embarrass Joe, and impress Ann. Meanwhile, Knobby figures out a way to con Ann into paying their boarding bill.

We open "HERE'S HOWE" where we are seeing a hand painted sign made out of four individual uneven cut raw wooden planks that are glued together and the sign is nailed to a side of a storage barn that reads as follows:
HICKS FARM
TRANSIENTS ACCOMMODATED
FRESH EGGS, PULLETS, HONEY,
MAPLE SYRUP, PUPPIES,
REFRESHMENTS
AND BLOODWORMS

We are now seeing a farm. It is a lovely, hot Summers Day. The sun is in full shine in a beautiful cloudless aqua bleu skyeline. Maple trees are in full leafing. There is grass that is in need of being cut. Three beautiful hazed over mountains in the background. There are several lovely roses bushes in full flowering. Chickens are clucking, pigs are oinking, ducks are quacking, cows are mooing and the horses are neighing. There are lovely full bloomed daffodils all around a lovely cedar plank farm house with three huge windows of white wood and cut glass. A cedar plank porch with a small white picket fence on it and three cedar plank steps leading up to the entrance doorway that is of a white lattice doorwell and there is a screen for the window. Plus there are several stacks of straw scattered throughout and also next to a storage barn there is a fighting ring.
We are now in the kitchen quarters where we are seeing a very tired "MISS MATILDA"; {MAXINE STONE}; dressed in a short-sleeved polka-dot printed house style of a dress with a black half apron tied around her waist as she has her lovely curly blonde hair tied back with a huge black bow hair clip.
She is now in the process of preparing breakfast. She is cooking in one large cast iron skillet two dozen eggs. In another smaller sized cast iron skillet she is frying bacon, ham, and sausages. Plus in a really tiny cast iron skillet she is frying two flap stacks. {The kitche is decorated with floral print wall covering, a large cast iron cooking stove is in the centre of the kitchen. Plus on a west wall there is a small window that is opened with a sheer white curtain that is tied back. There is a small cut-out on the upper part of the left side wall with a vase of fresh flowers in it. There is a large eight shelves storage pantry with different spices and different pantry items on it. There is a bench in front of the window. Plus on the left side of the window is an end stand that has a dish of fresh fruits on it and on the right side of the window there is a small preparations stand. The kitchen floor is of unfinished wooden planks and a large floral toss rug in front of the cookings stove}:
We are now seeing Miss Matilda walking over to her preparations stand as she is mixing up a large bowl of flap stacks batter as she is now thinking of a quicker way to cook the flap stacks as she is taking down from the storage pantry a can that reads "JOLLY TIME POP CORN." She is now pouring a large portion of the popping corn into the flap stacks batter and is mixing it in.
She is now approaching a well conditioned flap stacks griddle as we are now seeing her pouring on six flap stacks as the popping corn is now exploding and causing the flap stacks to flip themselves and having them cook quicker on the other side. She is now catching them onto a serving platter.
We are now seeing "PA"; {HARRY SHORT}; walking into the kitchen dressed in a pair of dungarees, torn and dirty long-sleeved plaid shirt, dirty black cotton vest, torn hat and scuffed up brown work boots as he is now setting down two pails of milk.
PA to MISS MATILDA: {As he has poured the milk into a storage container as is looking at her in a carrying way as he is asking her in a polite voice}: "Well, is breakfast ready?"
MISS MATILDA to PA: {As she is looking at him with a really dazed and tired look as she is saying to him in a serious and dragged out sorry version of a Southern accent}: "Yeah's Pa, yeah's. We gotta wait until Mr. Palooka gets in from his road work."
PA to MISS MATILDA: {As Pa is standing there with his hands on his waist and a mad look on his face as he is stating to her in a carrying voice}: "Well, that's great. They don't eat enough, but they gotta go out and work up an appetite so they can eat more, don't they?"
MISS MATILDA to PA: {As she is looking at Pa with a sarcastic look as she is stating to him in a low and mad voice}: "Yeah's Pa, yeah's!"
