Introduced a unique camera style of expressionism, utilizing angles and shadows. After directing THE MUMMY (1932) and MAD LOVE (1935), his talents were solely dedicated to cinematography, on films like KEY LARGO (1944) and GOLDEN BOY (1939). His cinematography techniques influenced the development of film noir in the 1940s. Hired by Desi Arnaz & Desilu Studios, Mr. Freund developed the 3-camera technique for filming live-audience situation comedies for television... utilized to this day. Karl was I LOVE LUCY's Director of Photography.
