The winner gets the prestgious #128 spot in the main tourney next week as well as bragging rights as the most popular Besser.

Unlike Metaldams, whose opinion I repsect, I'm glad (and surprised) that Quiz Whizz is not in the finals. That one starts off okay, but becomes dreadful to watch once the Stooges dress up like little boys. I hate Joe's scene where he's forced to eat a cigar.

Both "A Merry Mix-Up" and "Oil's Well That Ends Well" are fine Besser shorts. Having watched them both recently, my decision was quite easy. "Mix-Up" is clearly the more creative one, but "Oil's Well" is the funnier one, and the one I would show someone who had never seen a Joe Besser short before.

And I agree with Stooge-Adam about the cigar-eating scene in QUIZ WHIZZ. It's a good short, starts out great, but the disgusting unfunny cigar scene is what made me reluctantly have to vote it off.

A Merry Mix Up

Oil's Well That Ends Well is a good short, but it suffers from too many reused gags that are weakly delivered. Merry Mix Up was both very funny, a lot of fun, and mostly original material. It was by far the brightest Joe ever shined as apart of the Three Stooges.

Just to let you guys know, I've gotten into a good groove getting these first 64 match-ups ready by Saturday morning. Things are looking good.

I'm sorry I missed this. OIL'S WELL THAT ENDS IN THE WELL is the best Besser short? Really? What about.....no that one sucked. Then there's...that one sucked too. Picking a best Besser is kind of like picking whether to have your balls cut off with a rusty cleaver or having them set on fire for a half hour.

Personally I would have gone with Quiz Whizz; at least it wasn't a freakin' remake short.

Quizz Whizz is by far the best Besser short, no denying that.

What I'm a little sad about is that Besser did not get squared off against a bad, or even mediocre Curly short, in the first round it was Oils Well vs....... An Ache in Every Stake lol

Might have had a chance against say.... Monkey Businessman or Three Loan Wolves

EDIT: I just realized those 2 shorts I mentioned were left out of the tourny, but I stand by my initial statement, the Besser short could have been paired against say......Idle Roomers, Hugs and Mugs, or especially Half Wits Holiday!
