THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY

Station/Studio | 20th Century Fox |
Thirteen years after a high school geek's disastrous prom date with his dream girl, he tracks her down with a private investigator, hoping to get her to fall in love with him. The P.I. falls in love with her too, and attempts to keep Ted away.
The Farrelly brothers self-professed tribute to the Three Stooges, but very little of the sophomoric and sexually-oriented crude humor resembles or truly honors them. In the way of a tribute, it does feature Ted's fight with Mary's dog, which includes a brief moment where he attempts to poke it in the eyes only to have the dog block it with his paw. Another tribute is found in the character names of 'Ted' and 'Healy.'
