"In the Summer of 1929 the Fox Movietone Newsreel cameramen shot several clips of folks enjoying themselves at Coney Island NY, and there are [swimming pool] scenes included in which Moe and Shemp Howard appear. Six separate shots, all in sound.
... It was apparently a day off from the [Broadway] show A NIGHT IN VENICE in which Ted Healy & His Stooges were appearing at the Schubert Theatre in New York City. Moe and Shemp are there along with about twelve young ladies, probably chorus girls from the show."
(Other sources have identified this footage as filmed on the USC campus, while Healy and the Stooges were in California filming SOUP TO NUTS; that is incorrect. Coney Island NY and the summer of 1929 are the correct locale and date.)
