Tommy Young has been released from a three-year stretch in prison, for a jewelry robbery he didn't commit. Reuniting with fiancee Nora Nolan, and his screwball friends boxer Maxie Rosenbloom, trainer Shemp Howard and manager Billy Gilbert, he sets out to prove his innocence. Billy is also an aspiring writer, and he used Tommy's story to sell a fictional version of the robbery to a pulp magazine. The jewels were never found, and since the real crooks were left with phony copies, they assume from the story that Tommy may actually have been involved in a double-cross, with Billy masterminding everything. Billy, Shemp and Max ineptly cook up a scheme to nail the real crooks and exonerate Tommy.

The final of three Gilbert-Howard-Rosenbloom comedies for Monogram, this is the first to actually use the actors as a full comedy trio.

The crooks' moll is played by onetime Ziegfeld chorus girl Barbara Pepper, a Hollywood character actress probably best-remembered for her final role... 'Doris Ziffel' on the CBS sitcom GREEN ACRES from 1965 - 1968.
