Founder of Fox Film Corporation, his attempted buyout of MGM resulted in anti-trust litigation, and the loss of his company... in 1935, Fox merged with Darryl Zanuck's 20th Century Films, and formed 20th Century-Fox with Zanuck in control. Legal problems in the early 1940s plagued Bill Fox, who found himself ostracized from Hollywood until his death.
