As one of Ted Healy's stooges in the 1920s, Pinkus appeared in the Shuberts' A NIGHT IN SPAIN from May 1927 - December 1928, replacing Dick Hakins who became ill just as the revue began its Broadway run. Bobby was present on March 24, 1928 in Chicago when Ted and Shemp offered Larry the opportunity to join Healy's cast of stooges.

Under his real name Peter James, he was a popular supporting comic with The Spike Jones Orchestra in the 1950s.

His wife Ruth Foster was a recurring actress on LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE as 'Miss Foster.'
