A popular member of the Hal Roach Studio comedy roster, starring in "The Taxi Boys" series, and providing memorable support to "Our Gang," Laurel & Hardy (THE MUSIC BOX, BLOCK-HEADS, PACK UP YOUR TROUBLES), Charley Chase, Thelma Todd & Zasu Pitts (and Patsy Kelly), more. He also starred in comedy shorts for Columbia Pictures, 1943-44, and was a prolific character actor in feature films at several studios. In the late 1950s, one of THE RED SKELTON SHOW's supporting players.

Married Ella McKenzie in 1937, and his parents-in-law were Stooges supporting actors Eva and Bob McKenzie.
