Original member of the Dead End Kids, Bobby alternatively worked with the gang when it moved to Universal Studios as the Dead End Kids/Little Tough Guys in 1940, and at Monogram for the competing East Side Kids led by Leo Gorcey. When the "gang" consolidated at Monogram as The Bowery Boys in 1946, Bobby remained for several films and then quit when his role was overshadowed by the comedic antics of Huntz Hall and Leo Gorcey. His life floundered for years, but he stayed busy with small character roles into the early 1960s, Bobby died of complications from alcoholism in 1965.
