Popular vaudeville comedian who achieved success in movies during the 1930s. As film opportunities decreased, he was signed by Jules White to appear in a successful series of comedy short subjects for Columbia from 1943 - 1948. His trademark "woo-woo" exclamation was the initial inspiration of Warner's 'Daffy Duck.'
